Criminal referrals against Trump, while not binding, leave him more vulnerable
WASHINGTON – The US House Select Committee investigating the storming of the Capitol by supporters of Mr Donald Trump in January 2021 has referred the former president for criminal prosecution.
But the referral is not binding, and it does not mean the Department of Justice will automatically prosecute.
